About
Emergence Capital invests in early stage ventures focusing on enterprise & SaaS applications, and especially companies with machine-learning enabled solutions at their core. We are long-term investors who want to partner with entrepreneurs who want to change the world work. Emergence Capital prides itself on being bold and willing to take risks where other venture firms will not. We only make 5-7 investments a year, meaning we go all-in on the companies we back. Emergence Capital has invested in a number of successful companies including Salesforce, Box, Zoom, and and Service Box, and has raised five funds since its founding in 2003.

Foundry Group also invests in select, newly-formed venture capital fund managers. Foundry Group formed in 2007 and originally focused on Seed and Series A investments. Regardless of the size of our initial investment, the size and structure of our funds allow us to continue to fund portfolio companies through their entire financing lifecycles. In addition, our venture capital fund investments give us insight and access to a large number of venture-backed companies at varying stages while extending the reach of our overall network. In addition to providing capital, we leverage our experience in starting and growing companies, our expertise in the technology industry, and our network of relationships to help outstanding entrepreneurs and venture capital fund managers turn great ideas into great companies.
Venrock
Venrock is a venture capital firm headquartered in Palo Alto that focuses on disruptive early-stage technology startups. Venrock partners with entrepreneurs who have grand ambitions and want to tackle big, hard problems that most think impossible. Venrock today consists of two separate programs: a traditional venture capital program, focused on early stage investing in healthcare and technology companies; and a later-stage healthcare program, which implements a venture capital-like long-term approach to investment opportunities in small capitalization public companies and late-stage private healthcare companies.
Venrock was formed in 1969 as a venture arm of the Rockefeller family (the name Venrock being a compound of Venture and Rockefeller), who have a long history of venture-style investing dating back to the early 20th century.

We typically lead or co-lead Series A venture rounds in companies either still developing a product, or ready to go to market. We also do seed deals as part of small investor groups.

Uncork Capital
Uncork Capital is a Palo Alto based venture capital firm that invests seed capital into technology startups, especially in the sectors of e-commerce, mobile services and Software as a Service (SaaS). Uncork Capital is one of the most active seed investors in Silicon Valley, having made more than 200 companies and successfully exited more than 60. Unlike many investors, we have and will continue to invest in hardware and frontier/deep technology (e.g. space, robotics, AR/VR). Although we focus on seed investing, we have a separate fund that pursues follow-on investments into mature, existing portfolio companies. We stay deeply involved with the founding team throughout the most intense period of a company's life. The early years.
As new investors join the board, we transition out to make room. Even then, we remain supportive and available to the team for the whole journey, no matter what the outcome.
What do we look for? Outliers and outperformers who use technology to solve real problems for real people and real businesses. Products or services that are differentiated and special. You should be obsessed with the idea and uniquely qualified to build and scale it. The sector you are targeting should be large enough to support a few public companies.
Uncork Capital was previously known as SoftTech until its name change in 2017.
