The Startmate Accelerator is a 12-week program for startups who are changing the way we work, live and play, and we're powered by the most successful entrepreneurs and venture capitalists in Australia.
Startmate invests in great Australian founders who are on a mission to be the best in the world. Startmate is powered by its mentors - successful startup founders who invest their own time and money in each batch. The mentors have extensive experience growing successful tech businesses such as Atlassian co-founders, Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar.
Over 200 startups from across the country apply to be a part of each batch and 25 of these are shortlisted for interviews. Of these, we select the best eight. Grok Ventures invests in fast-growing technology-enabled businesses with world-class management teams who are solving big problems. Grok particularly likes food and energy companies. We have private, patient, long-term capital, with the flexibility to participate from early-stage or seed financing through to late stage funding rounds (although we prefer to be involved earlier).

Tank Stream Ventures
Tank Stream Ventures is a $20m venture capital fund that invests in ambitious digital businesses. Tank Stream invests in late seed (post launch) to series-A rounds, with investment size ranging from $250k up to $1m in an initial round, with potential for follow on investment. We usually invest alongside other investors and we can either lead or follow other leading investors. More specifically, we like to invest in companies and sectors where we can add significant value: marketplaces and SaaS are a few of our core sectors of expertise.

ilab UQ
ilab is the University of Queensland's startup accelerator program. We provide $10,000 in seed funding, do not take any equity and our program is free to join. We offer access to our industry professionals, corporate partners and networks, and world class academic resources. ilab was originally established by the Queensland Government in 2000 to support early stage, high-tech companies through the first few years of development, and was acquired and expanded upon by UQ in 2009. Since 2012, ilab has introduced Germinate accelerator programs, intern placement programs and a range of other founder friendly initiatives. UQ's ilab has run more than 13 accelerator programs, continued its startup incubator, has supported in excess of 500 young founders across 185 startup companies and has organised over 3000 mentor sessions cementing its position as one of the most experienced startup accelerator programs in Australia.
