About

ilab is the University of Queensland's startup accelerator program. We provide $10,000 in seed funding, do not take any equity and our program is free to join. We offer access to our industry professionals, corporate partners and networks, and world class academic resources. ilab was originally established by the Queensland Government in 2000 to support early stage, high-tech companies through the first few years of development, and was acquired and expanded upon by UQ in 2009. Since 2012, ilab has introduced Germinate accelerator programs, intern placement programs and a range of other founder friendly initiatives. UQ's ilab has run more than 13 accelerator programs, continued its startup incubator, has supported in excess of 500 young founders across 185 startup companies and has organised over 3000 mentor sessions cementing its position as one of the most experienced startup accelerator programs in Australia.

Prisma Investment
Prisma Investment is an early stage investment firm focused on direct investment into companies working to improve or disrupt public services and indirect investment into other technology-related startups. Prisma works with venture partners including Blackbird Ventures and OneVentures who typically undertake the first round of filtering. As each Venture Partner fund accelerates its own follow-on investment, in certain select circumstances Prisma may choose to significantly concentrate investment. In exceptional circumstances - and solely within early stage companies targeting public sector disruption or public discussion - we will act as the lead funder. Prisma is the investment vehicle of Luca Belgiorno-Nettis, a member of the well known family that founded Transfield Services.
