Next Capital
Next Capital is a leading independent Australian private equity firm, specialising in providing buy-out funding for small to medium growth businesses, typically valued between A$50 million and A$200 million. The Next Capital team has a strong operational focus, based on cultivating successful partnerships with investee company founders and management over many years. We focus on expansion capital and small to mid-market buyouts in Australia and New Zealand, and seek to back investee companies for the medium to long term, rather than seek unsustainable short-term rewards. We will typically take an equity position in a business that can generate value over three to five years, but are prepared to hold investments for up to 10 years if appropriate. We do not seek to aggressively use debt. In our experience, growth businesses require headroom to expand and the flexibility to take advantage of opportunities as they arise, unencumbered by unsustainable levels of gearing.
Barwon Investment Partners
Barwon Investment Partners specialises in listed private equity and property investments. Our investment style places a strong emphasis on research and analysis, active management and fundamental value. We apply this expertise to add value through selective identification of attractive investment opportunities, independent of index or benchmark approaches. In property, Barwon focuses on value added and opportunistic strategies, and has three property funds dedicated to healthcare, childcare and development. In Private Equity, Barwon primarily invests into listed private equity funds, as opposed to individual investments.
Allegro Funds
We invest in rebuilding great businesses and developing specialised talent through transformational capital. Founded in 2004 by Chester Moynihan and Adrian Loader, Allegro is Australia's most-awarded turnaround team. As specialists in transformational capital, our distinctly hands-on approach applies capital and expertise to unlock the potential and creating business value for the companies and investors we work with.
Archer Capital
Archer Capital specialises in mid-market leveraged buyouts and is currently investing Archer Capital Fund 5. Archer Capital Fund 5 seeks mid-market LBO opportunities in Australia and New Zealand, favouring businesses with the opportunity to invest $75 million of equity or higher. Archer Capital considers an active partnership with management throughout the lifecycle of an investment as an essential foundation for success. We acquire companies in equity partnership with management, either the incumbent management team or a buy-in team. We assist managers to acquire or expand businesses by providing capital and, just as importantly, we actively support those managers to grow the value of their businesses and ultimately to realise that value. We bring operational expertise to our portfolio companies as well as financial and strategic capability. The quality of a business is the key to the success of a transaction. Our expertise lies in identifying potential investment opportunities with businesses in a strong market position and/or with growth potential, with strong cash flows and significant opportunities to improve operational performance. Ultimately, our skill lies in increasing and realising the value of a business. In April 2018, Archer Capital announced it would be winding up its operations.
Accel-KKR
Accel-KKR is a leading mid-market software and technology investor, established in 2000 as a joint venture between leading venture investor Accel Partners and leading private equity firm KKR. Throughout the years, the firm has taken a collaborative approach to working with our management teams so that, together, we can help our companies reach their full potential. Accel-KKR focuses primarily on three types of transactions: buyouts of divisions, subsidiaries and business units from public companies; acquisitions and recapitalizations of closely-held private companies; and going-private transactions of small public companies.
