About

Smedvig Captial is a family office investment vehicle that primarily invests the capital of the fourth generation of the Smedvig Family. We invest both directly into businesses, as well as into a select number of leading private equity fund managers. Our direct investing strategy is focused on early-stage (Series A and Series B) technology investments in the UK and Nordic regions. We look for ambitious management teams, tech-enabled businesses in attractive markets, and strong revenue growth (with minimum revenue > 1mm GBP). Smedvig Capital was founded in 1996 by Johnny Hewett and Peter Smedvig. Today, Smedvig has approximately $1.6bn of capital invested. $500m of this is direct investments, with the remainder via investments into private equity and venture capital managers.
