About

The Darena Ventures Growth Fund uses a revenue-based financing instrument to invest between USD100,000 and USD500,000 in growth stage SMEs/ startups and scaleups providing climate resilience solutions in the energy, agriculture, food, waste management and mobility sectors in under-served countries in Southern and Eastern Africa. The fund will initially invest in up to 25 companies in select 6 countries. Our convertible revenue-based loans have a tenure of between 2 and 5 years, which allows us to recycle the investment capital and thus increase the number of companies the fund can invest in. An optional Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) is included, which can be activated if any balance remains after five years, providing a safety net for investors and potential equity upside.
