Ardian is one of Europe's largest private investment houses. We manage five separate strategies: Fund of Funds, where we invest in other funds (US$49bn under management), Direct Private Equity (US$15bn), Infrastructure (US$10bn), Private Debt (US$7bn) and Real Estats ($1bn). We invest globally, generally in developed markets, although each strategy differs in terms of geography. We have more than 550 employees based in Paris, London, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, Zurich, New York, San Francisco, Santiago, Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, Jersey and Luxembourg.
Ardian was founded under AXA, the insurance company, in 1996, and was spun off as a an independent company in 2013.

Goldman Sachs
The Merchant Banking Division (MBD) is the investing and lending division of Goldman Sachs, and is one of the largest asset managers in the world. Prior to August 2019, when all of the investing divisions of Goldman Sachs merged, Goldman Sachs had a separate investing and lending division known as the Special Situations Group (SSG). SSG focused on investing the firm's balance sheet in a wide variety of asset classes. It had no external capital. SSG was formed during the Asian Financial Crisis, and originally specialised in distressed lending and acquisition of distressed assets. However, SSG quickly expanded into a broader special situations investor, focusing on areas where other forms of capital were not flowing efficiently, or where returns are out sized versus in-house perceptions of risk.
IFM Investors
IFM Investors is one of Australia's leading investors, with a strong track record of investment across four key asset classes: debt investments, listed equities, infrastructure and private equity. With respect to private equity, IFM looks for minority or majority investments in Australian and New Zealand mid-market ($50m to $300m valuation) growth companies. IFM is sector agnostic, however particularly likes healthcare, consumer brands, technology and business services. IFM Investors is owned by 27 Australian superannuation funds.
TPG Capital
TPG Capital is a global multi-strategy asset manager headquartered in California that invests in private equity, credit, real estate, and hedge fund strategies. TPG begun as a private equity investor before expanding into other strategies, and that remains the largest part of the business with more than $60bn under management, representing about 60% of total capital.
